We slept better last night at the
Hotel en Restaurant Maasparel in Arcen,
but Pia still finds the bed uncomfortable.
Breakfast is excellent, just like yesterday.
Given how busy dinner was yesterday, we expected breakfast to be as busy, but that in't the
case.
The weather forecast for today is good, so we're going cycling just as we planned.
Tom has found a cycling route, a junction route, whose name suggests we'll be cycling past
many rose growers.
We leave around 10 a.m., taking the ferry across the Meuse, and shortly afterward, another
ferry back across the Meuse.
We cycle to Venlo on the east side of the river, and we do see roses, but they're mainly in
private front gardens.
The area is nice for cycling, but as expected, more buildings are coming near Venlo.
We cycle through the center of Venlo to a bridge over the Meuse River.
Tom isn't too fond of these kinds of bridges, but we reach the other side.
Here we cycle for quite a while through an area with many businesses and, moreover, route
signs are scarce.
Fortunately, we make it through that boring part of Venlo, and from now on we cycle through
woods and farmland.
Here too, we see roses, but only one or two nurseries, which, it being Sunday, are closed;
they do have a refrigerated rose vending machine.
Finally, after cycling past, but not through, a few villages, we arrive in Broekhuizen,
where we have to cross the Meuse River again.
We're hungry, so we eat our packed lunches and then have a drink on the terrace of the
Maashotel, with a beautiful view of the Meuse River
and the ferry.
Back at our hotel, we rest for a bit.
Then we walk to the center of Arcen and take a good look at the food on offer.
As we suspected, the selection is more or less the same at almost every restaurant, and the
prices are also practically the same.
We decide to eat at our hotel again.
But first we're going to have a drink on the terrace of
De Achtertuin, we had a great time there yesterday.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
